WHAT'S GOING ON
Just completed a new piece for flute & guitar entitled One Suite Jam. Drawing upon funk, rock, blues and pop - this fresh, grooving chamber work was written for the dynamic ensemble Duo de Vista and will receive its premiere this February in Columbia, SC.
Notion of Commotion for choir & piano four-hands was premiered to enthusiastic applause by Via Nova Chor & Duo d'Accord at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in November of 2014. This three movement work depicts the frenetic energy and unique, complex flavorings of New York City's famous (and sometimes infamous) subway system.
My setting (soprano, flute & guitar) of Sylvia Plath's poem Lady Lazarus was given its premiere performance this past May in Florence, Italy by Frauke Aulbert, Luciano Tristaino & Gisbert Watty.
